Accommodation Office Services
The accommodation office provides a web based advertising service used by over 3000 students looking for private rented accommodation each year. Most students use our facilities as their first point of contact. To advertise with the University all landlords must be accredited.
Our office is open daily and we are pleased to answer queries from existing or potential landlords. We advertise details of your accommodation to students who will contact you to arrange a viewing. Students will make all arrangements with you.
Can I be part of the Accreditation Scheme?
If you are a landlord wishing to rent to students, you should be aware that the University of Chichester has an Accreditation Scheme which you must join if you wish to advertise your property through the University. If you are interested in joining the scheme, a member of staff will arrange to visit your property to establish if is is suitable and to advise on any alterations necessary.
We are looking for furnished self-contained houses and flats, and single rooms in houses. This could be Short term lets, Student houses or flats, Self contained bedsits or Self contained flats.
What are the benefits of joining the accreditation scheme?
The accreditation scheme aims to give professional, reliable landlords credit and give them a market advantage by distinguishing their properties from the rest.
Members of the scheme will benefit from:
- Model tenancy agreements & inventories
- Regular updates on best practice and the legal aspects of letting
- Answers to FAQ’s, Hints & Tips

Register your property
All HMO properties must adhere to all the safety regulations laid out by Chi chester District Council’s guidelines.
Our main mail shot to current landlords requesting changes to current information advertised, is sent in early December. This information is required back in January so that our database can be updated for the next academic year, and go 'live' online in early February. Demand then continues on a regular basis until early October, so please don’t hesitate to advertise your property with us whenever convenient over this period.
Landlords may provide full details of their properties, including photographs. Properties which have been added in the last 7 days and Accredited properties are highlighted. Students will contact you direct to arrange a viewing.
Once you have agreed a letting, please contact the Accommodation Office as soon as possible so that we can remove you details from view and prevent unnecessary calls from other students. Please telephone 01243 816069 or email us accommodation@chi.ac.uk
