Business Start up Support

We offer a range of business support for new and existing business.

Hot House Programme

Our Hot House business support programme will give you the opportunity to make a real difference to your business development. You will take your idea and grow it with our intensive support and access to the latest business knowledge and practical tools.

The programme's aim is to help, support and develop your new or small business or get you to make an idea in to reality through a comprehensive package of workshops, boot camps, peer to peer workgroups and business mentoring from business experts.

The Hot House Programme includes a range of stimulating and challenging business and personal development activities that suit people from all work and educational backgrounds.

An Evening of Inspiration – Thursday 13 October

A whirlwind of information and takeaways that you can use to develop your own business. Be inspired by others who have started up their own business and get a taster of a how powerful peer group support is when growing your business. A relaxed evening and a chance to meet other attendees on the programme and the trainers.

Boot Camp Weekend – Saturday 5 and Sunday 6 November

Two days of highly interactive, fun and informative business learning designed to help you define, refine and develop your business idea.

Day one you will define what it is that you do and control how you will be known. You will create a statement of purpose, a set of verbal business cards to articulate your business offer, and the first draft of your planned business using the internationally recognised Business Model Canvas.

Day two you will learn about finding your customer segment and designing and conducting market research. You will develop an understanding of fundamental issues such as cash flow, expenses, when to register as self-employed and setting up a limited company.


A series of 6, 3 hour knowledge workshops. Learn what it takes to be successful in your business start-up. Build the knowledge to gain the confidence to create sales, develop powerful relationships with your customers and grow and develop your business. The workshops include:

1 Dec: ‘Sales and pitching your business’

12 Jan: ‘Marketing and Advertising’

9 Feb: ‘Digital Marketing, websites, social media and email marketing’

16 March: ‘Legalities, including registering, business names and intellectual property’

13 April: ‘Book keeping and cash flow planning’

11 May: ‘What’s next? Looking at other support you can access, raise funding, things to make your business life easier’

All workshop sessions will run 6.30 – 9.30pm on the Bognor Regis Campus, University of Chichester

Peer-to-Peer sessions:

Delivered by our partner, MDHUB, the workgroups brings together all the people on the programme to form a group that will help you to grow and develop your business by using the experience and knowledge of everyone in the group.

Every workshop is delivered by an experienced academic or business professional whose expertise could help your business thrive. They’re a great opportunity to meet and network with other business owners, too.
