There's a ton of careers information on the web. We have linked into sites on a selective basis throughout our careers pages but you may prefer some different starting points. We have listed various sources of information below that give different perspectives.

Prospects is the official UK graduate website and we link to it just about everywhere in this site. It should be stressed that much of the content is researched and written by careers advisers from universities across the UK: www.prospects.ac.uk.

There are some other large scale sites that, like Prospects, have a good range careers resources and graduate jobs and work placements. Like Prospects they also take a little getting used to in terms of navigation. Target's site is new with some good profiles from people in employment; Real World has some excellent articles:

Creative Choices - A free career resource for the creative and cultural industries. It outlines all types of jobs in the creative industries, and the skills and experience needed to attain them www.creative-choices.co.uk.

The careers advice section of the Guardian has some useful articles plus a good range of jobs:

http://jobs.guardian.co.uk/jobs. There's also a section for graduates: www.guardian.co.uk/graduate.

University of London - Careers Group, one of the largest university sites with a useful 'online careers library': www.careers.lon.ac.uk

The Job Hunters Bible - He looks dangerous but Dick Bolles is the last word in this field. Author of the perpetual guide to job hunting and career changing 'What Colour Is Your Parachute?':

www.jobhuntersbible.com

Mind Tools - Another excellent American site which focuses on choices and reflective approaches:

www.mindtools.com

The Graduate Career Handbook has a linked website:

www.pearsoned.co.uk/bookshop/minds/gradcareers

Graduate-Jobs is the largest independent graduate job board in the UK. It aims to give graduates with the best possible selection of uk careers, employment & recruitment schemes:

www.graduate-jobs.com

Ethical Careers gives another viewpoint. The site includes articles and job examples drawing on a number of sectors: www.ethicalcareers.org

www.lifecoach-directory.org.uk This is a free, confidential service that will help those seeking a new direction in their life to find the encouragement they need.
