Consultation on Bognor Regis Campus Redevelopments

The University was recently awarded over £8 million by the Higher Education Funding Council for England (HEFCE), and the South East England Development Agency (SEEDA), which £6.35m will go towards a major internal refurbishment of The Dome, to become a centre for business and enterprise and a draw for international students, and will contribute to a new state-of-art Learning Resource Centre and Student Support Facility.

The University of Chichester is launching a consultation with staff, students, stakeholders and local residents on this, the first phase of its Bognor Regis Campus redevelopment. The consultation includes:

The refurbishment of the Dome to accommodate SEMAL and REEO – these plans, developed in close consultation with staff, student and business users, are well advanced and building work will begin in July 2010. We are now in the very early stages of discussing the look and feel of the interior and your input would be very welcome.

The Dome

The new Learning Resources Centre – the plans for this exciting development to improve the student experience at Bognor Regis, are in the early stages. We strongly encourage you to have a look at these plans as staff and student feedback is crucial to ensure that the new building will meet your needs, as well as being an exciting learning focus for the campus.

Bognor Regis Campus, New LRC Plans

The refurbishment of the current library for teaching rooms and staff offices and the refurbishment of the current student services building to provide on-site incubator units are not yet at the planning stage. Early comments would be welcome.
