National Student Survey (NSS)

Selected responses from the National Student Survey 2010 undertaken anonymously by final year Fine Art students at the end of their BA here at the University of Chichester:

  • Fantastic access to teaching staff that have always been positive and helpful. Prepared to offer constructive criticism, and generally been supportive.
  • Tutors are very knowledgeable about their subject area and are always willing to pass on this knowledge, and their skills. It has been really useful having your own dedicated studio space to spread out and be messy in. All staff, not just tutors, gives freely of their time, expertise and advice.
  • Excellent internal lectures. Visiting lecturers of a very high standard. Technicians' help excellent readily available. IT staff very knowledgeable. Library facilities excellent. Small enough university to create a friendly atmosphere.
  • There were also good & helpful services available within the university with regards to disability, and health.
  • It's a very welcoming community in the University of Chichester.
  • The right level of support at each stage encouraging self-sufficiency and independence over a 3-year period. Encouragement to engage with world outside the university.
  • A well structured course and happy environment with knowledgeable helpful tutors.
  • The facilities, level of attention given to students, and studio space provided for full time students taking Fine Art are all excellent, and have contributed hugely to both the subject specific and general life skills that I will be taking away with me.
