Fine Art student collaborates with school to create unique artwork

A Fine Art student from the University of Chichester has been collaborating with a local school to create a bespoke artwork.As part of her level five module 'Site'.

Lauri Hopkins was asked to create a piece of art for the visitors' reception at The Regis School in Bognor to commemorate the old Lower and Upper School buildings, which are now demolished and derelict respectively.

The finished piece, which is constructed from the remains of the buildings, is entitled 'Floor'.

Two Fine Art students are celebrating their success after winning top prizes in a sculpture competition

Level-five student Sam Lloyd won the ‘University’ category at the ‘Recycled Sculpture Challenge’, a competition held by the Cass Sculpture Foundation, whilst level-six student Sarah Evans took home third prize.

Sam’s prize includes £150 and the chance to work at Cass for six-months.

Pat Grindey, a final year Fine Art student from the University of Chichester has won the National Open Art Competition 2008.

Mature student Pat, from Funtington, near Chichester, whose painting '3 Peasant Girls, after Malevich' was chosen from a record 1,200 submissions by artists from across the UK, was presented with the £10,000 first prize. Read more >>
