The Human Resources Department is located on the Bishop Otter Campus in Chichester.

We aim to support staff and managers in all human resources aspects of their work and life at the University, including:
- Staff recruitment, induction, mentoring, probation and appraisal (PRDP)
- Contracts and terms and conditions of service
- Employee relations policies and procedures
- Equality and Diversity policies and procedures and
- Equality Impact Assessment (EIA)
- HR Strategy monitoring and planning and the People
- Management Self Assessment Tool (SAT)
- Occupational health, staff welfare, and employee support
- Managing and monitoring absence
- Maternity, paternity, parental leave and flexible working arrangements
- Criminal Records Bureau (CRB) clearance
- Remuneration, reward and payroll (we work closely with the Finance Payroll Officer)
- Management of the HR database ('CIPHR') and its self-service functions
- Development, co-ordination, evaluation and monitoring of the University's Staff Development Programme
- Job evaluation using Higher Education Role Analysis ('HERA')
- Annual returns to the Higher Education Statistics Agency ('HESA') and other stakeholders
Organisational change management programmes.
