We aim to support staff and managers in all human resources aspects of their work and life at the University, including:

• Staff recruitment, induction, mentoring, probation and appraisal (PRDP)
  
• Contracts and terms and conditions of service
  
• Employee relations policies and procedures
  
• Equality and Diversity policies and procedures and
• Equality Impact Assessment (EIA)
  
• HR Strategy monitoring and planning and the People
• Management Self Assessment Tool (SAT)
  
• Occupational health, staff welfare, and employee support
  
• Managing and monitoring absence
  
• Maternity, paternity, parental leave and flexible working arrangements
  
• Criminal Records Bureau (CRB) clearance
  
• Remuneration, reward and payroll (we work closely with the Finance Payroll Officer)
  
• Management of the HR database ('CIPHR') and its self-service functions
  
• Development, co-ordination, evaluation and monitoring of the University's Staff Development Programme
  
• Job evaluation using Higher Education Role Analysis ('HERA')
  
• Annual returns to the Higher Education Statistics Agency ('HESA') and other stakeholders
  Organisational change management programmes.
