International and EU Support - EU Students

stylecurve

European Students have more rights in the UK than other International Students.

If you are a national from an EU country, EEA country or Switzerland, you have a right to come to the UK without a visa and you can settle and work here.

EU nationals should be charged the lower “Home” rate rather than the “Overseas” rate for your course of studies, providing that you were living within the EEA before you started your course.

Nationals from Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway and Switzerland (EEA but not EU nationals) only have the right to Home fees if you are working in the UK as well as studying.

EU nationals and EEA migrant workers are also eligible for some UK Government Funding, as long as the course you are doing is a “designated course” (the University can confirm if your course is designated).

If you are not an EU/EEA national yourself, but are a family member of such a national (including UK nationals), you may also have these same rights.

If you (or a family member) are working in the UK, then you have a right to more UK funding. Read more about EEA migrant workers:

If you are an EU national but are not working in the UK (and do not intend to work while you are studying), then please select from the following 2 options:

EU nationals – not working

Choose this option if you have already lived in the UK for at least 3 years before the start of your degree.
