Sarah Rubidge was Professor in Choreography and New Media until her retirement at the end of  2013, and now remains associated with the University as Professor Emerita.

She is a digital choreographer who specialises in the dialogue between performance and New Media, with a  particular interest in interactive installations.

She has been presenting her artistic work in the field since 1997. Her collaborative installation works have been exhibited nationally and internationally.

These include Sensuous Geographies (2003) with composer Alistair MacDonald of Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama, Fugitive Moments (2006) with scientist Beau Lotto of University of London, global drifts (2006) for the Brisbane International Festival with Australian choreographer Hellen Sky, Eris Eros (2007) with choreographer Liz Lea at the Linbury Studios, Royal Opera House, London, and most recently Thai Tracings (2013)  for the Global Encounters International Festival of South East Asian Performing Arts in Bangkok with Alan Stones.

Sarah has published extensively, not only on dance and New Media, but also  other aspects of dance practice.

Sarah has published several journal articles and chapters in books  and recently co-edited a book entitled Choreographic Dwellings: Practising Place with Gretchen Schiller of Grenoble University .
