Our Financial Support Package

The information below, together with useful questions and answers, is available from the download panel - please note for students starting in September 2016 there is a different download if you will be living at home whilst studying.

2016/17

If the income of your household is below £42,000 you will be eligible for our support package. All cash payments will be paid to the student in three installments during the year.

Care Leavers

If you are a Care Leaver you may be eligible for our Care Leavers Bursary of £1,000 per year irrespective of any other funding or grants you may receive.  Contact our Care Leavers Coordinator, Dave Corcoran, on clc@chi.ac.uk for more information or see our Care Leavers webpage.

Loans for living costs (Maintenance Loan)

A loan of up to £8,200 per year will be available if you live away from home.  A loan of up to £6,904 per year will be available if you live with your parents.  Keep checking the SFE website for updates.

Care Leavers

In recognition of the fact that students coming to university from a care background may need additional support, we have put together our Care Leavers’ package for eligible students. Care Leavers receive an additional £1,000 as either a bursary or a fee waiver.
