Overview

Theology and Religion at Chichester attract students from a rich diversity of backgrounds and academic staff are involved in a number of international projects in India, South Africa, Germany and the United States. There are also links with the Centre for Ecclesiastical Studies, the George Bell Institute, Chichester Cathedral and churches within the region.
At Chichester we investigate the big questions:
- What is the place of religion in modern society?
- Who was Jesus of Nazareth and what can we know of his life?
- What do Muslims really believe?
- What do you have to do to live a good life?
- Why do people suffer?
- How do Christians describe God and what does it mean to say we are saved?
- How can society be fairly and justly organized?
