Staff Development

The strong relationship between a highly successful organisation and its commitment to developing the capabilities of its staff is well recognised. The University of Chichester provides opportunities for all staff to learn and develop within the context of the overall University Strategy.

As an employee at the University of Chichester you will be able to access a broad range of training and development opportunities including, but not limited to, sessions advertised in the Staff Development Programme, a centrally organised programme of events that run throughout the academic year.

In addition to the Staff Development Programme, activities of the Staff Development function include:

  •     Organising bespoke training sessions for groups of staff
  •     Co-ordinating and administering the mentoring scheme
  •     Co-ordinating and administering the probationary review scheme
  •     Co-ordinating and administering the Performance Review Development Plan (Appraisal Scheme)
  •     Designing and analysing the annual staff survey
  •     Ensuring fair and equal access for training and development
  •     Undertaking training need analyses
  •     Evaluating all centrally organised training and development opportunities
  •     Organising 6-monthly induction events
