Ambassador Programme

The Ambassador Programme is an annual experience made of two parts, an enterprise competition which runs through the year and a one day event held at the Business School on the Bognor Regis Campus. The aim of the programme is to familiarise 16-18 year olds with a university, providing the opportunity to learn about what it’s like, how it works, what sort of things are on offer and of course engage in an enterprise activity that will enable participants to get creative, work with others and get to meet students from other institutions.

Enterprise Competition

In the run up to the day, launching in October 2018, participating schools and colleges will be engaged in an enterprise competition set by the University and have several months to make teams, build in appropriate key skills and align to curricula to get the most out of the competition element. Each institution will hold their own finals event in March 2019 with each schools winning team automatically progressing to the Ambassadors Day event at the University in May/June 2019.

Ambassadors Day

The Ambassadors day offers students their first real look at university life, experience a day in the life of a university student and gain an insight into what it’s like at the Business School. The experience day will enable participants to meet people their own age who might also be considering university and will work with them in groups, get creative, think about enterprise and work on a real life business case.

On the day participating students will work in cross school teams, for a real business, will have the day to prepare something for them, pitching it to the business at the end of the day. During the day there will be a campus tour, introduction to student life, talk on applying to university, lunch and some team building activities.  There will be lots of opportunities to take pictures, post on social media and Snapchat their friends about the great time they’re having.

Students will develop confidence and initiative, gain sense of achievement, build personal and professional network and gain new insights into personal direction. This will be a long and intensive day but a very rewarding one with every participant leaving with a University of Chichester Business School goodie bag and a prize for the winning project, plus a lapel pin to proudly wear.

The Ambassador programme is open to sixth form schools and colleges in West Sussex, East Sussex, Hampshire, and Surrey and designed for 16-18 year old pupils. If you’d like your institution to participate then send and expression of interest to Lionel Bunting
