Grace Campbell, Arts for Dementia Project internship

This internship has been invaluable to me and for my chosen career path. I now have a good understanding of conducting research, ethical processes, the running of organisations, correspondence with various organisations in the district and enhanced computing skills.

This internship exceeded my expectations on every level.

Hazal Yaz, Arun and Chichester Citizens Advice Bureau

I learnt a range of skills from my internship including: team work; multi-tasking; independence; creativity; event planning; market research and publicity such as writing newspaper articles. I was given a lot of responsibilities which made me feel good and increased my confidence.

I believe that this opportunity has given me the skills that will help me secure a graduate level job. I keep receiving calls from the recruitment agencies saying my CV is very impressive!

Since my internship I have been offered, and accepted, a full time role with Arun and Chichester Citizens Advice Bureau.

Emily Turner, Chichester Observer

I really enjoyed the level of responsibility I was given. During the times when I had a lighter workload, I learned to take the opportunity to come up with my own ideas and make suggestions. I have also gained confidence in approaching new people. I feel that my time on this internship has given me the opportunity to develop my social and writing skills as well as my confidence and my understanding of working in the industry.

This internship has exceeded my expectations and has been an invaluable experience. I am extremely grateful for the opportunity I have been given to work at the Chichester Observer and I feel that it has been a crucial experience to learn about the industry and make important contacts.

Adrian Brown, Tuppenny Barn Education Ltd

I have learnt a number of skills relating to the field of marketing, having pretty much covered all the tasks possible within the job, from digital marketing to working with press and taking my own photos. I have also learnt a lot about working with different people and becoming part of an organisation. The internship surpassed my expectations. I was given the opportunity to undertake a number of roles as part of my placement and because of this, I would feel confident in most marketing positions available on the job market. I feel that the valuable knowledge I have gained will put me in good stead for the future.

Alex Roe, New Park Community Centre

I found it very helpful to put what I had learned from my University degree and volunteer work into practice in a paid role. This included different ways of marketing, networking with various sport providers across the Chichester area, and how to manage an organisation effectively. This internship has given me a good insight into sport development and the job I want to do, and let me practice my skills in a work environment. It’s a CV enhancing programme and the skills and experience I have gained from it will transfer well into the world of work.
