Course content

The International Foundation for Computing can be undertaken as a single semester 4 module provision, or as a two semester 8 module provision.  Whether a student takes the single semester or two semester variant is dependent upon their prior educational attainment.  International Foundation for Computing feeds into International Year One Computing.

Both the foundation and year one elements of the programme operate at Level 4, and successful completion of the International Foundation Year and International Year One component of the programme enables students to progress their studies at Level 5 BSc (Hons) Computer Science.

Students will have opportunities to improve their English for academic purposes and enhance their English language proficiency in a supportive environment as they adapt to university life in a different culture.

In addition, the programme is designed to equip students with the digital skills to fully participate in modern university academic programmes.

After successful completion of your Foundation Year, you are guaranteed automatic progression into the 3-year degree programme in your chosen subject pathway, all on a single visa.

Situated just five minutes from the sea, the Bognor Regis campus has beautiful Georgian architecture including three grand mansion houses amongst our other modern teaching facilities.

The local area

It’s important to love where you live and study and the local area surrounding the University has so much to offer. Bognor Regis is well known for its long stretch of coastline, with a mixture of sandy and pebble beaches and with just a five minute walk from campus, there no excuse not to visit.

The Bognor Regis campus is also close to Hotham Park, a beautiful 22 acre public park. The park surrounds Hotham House, built in 1792 by Sir Richard Hotham, and regarded by many as one of the finest Georgian houses in Sussex. The famous Butlins Bognor Regis resort lies at the eastern end of the promenade and is the largest holiday centre in the South of England.

Our Bishop Otter campus in Chichester is 7 miles, or 25 minutes away, so students are free to travel between both. We have a free bus which shuttles between both campuses, so students can access the teaching, learning and social spaces on either campus.

The South Downs are close by, providing students with lots of beautiful walks through fields, forests and hills. The city of Chichester is great for shopping and is home to Chichester Cathedral.

Transport links to and from London are quick and easy. Trains travel directly to London Victoria in 90 minutes, and the main London airports can be driven to in under 90 minutes. See transport links on Google Maps.
