Angela is pretty as a picture after 23 years at the University

Angela Shardlow 1

THE twenty three-year career of a staff member from the University of Chichester has been celebrated with a bespoke portrait painting by a Fine Art student.

Angela Shardlow, who works in the on-campus Otters restaurant, was presented with the picture at a surprise congratulatory event. The artwork was painted by BA (Hons) Fine Art student Peter White and was displayed in the recent undergraduate degree show.

Angela said: “This is a marvellous painting and I am honoured to have been given it by the students.” The portrait was purchased for restaurant worker Angela, who is employed by contract caterers Elior, as a gift by two benefactors who wished to remain anonymous.

University Director of Estate Management John Kingdon said: “Angela is known for her sunny disposition and friendly manner to all of her customers. She is a real asset to the University and this is a fantastic way of saying thank you for all of her support across the years.”
