The exhibition and all events are free.
Tim Sandys-Renton, Senior Lecturer in Fine Art, said: “The title ‘indexical’ comes from our interest in semiotics – the way signs work. It’s really about the way things signal themselves by leaving a perceptible trace on the world. Like the way smoke signals the presence of fire, even if you can’t see it…. Many of the exhibits in the show have a strong presence because of the way the idea has left an impression on the materiality of the work. Despite the academic chat, we think the works on view embody the qualities that make for interesting art – approachable, varied and committed.”
The exhibition is in the Fine Art Studios in St Michael’s House on the Bognor Regis campus (PO21 1HR).
You can park in the University car park off Felpham Way with the Pay-By-Phone app, or park at nearby Hotham Park car park which is free after 6pm.
