MA Fine Art student is named Chichester Festival Theatre's 2018 Emerging Artist in Residence

Helen Sill, MA Fine Art student at the University of Chichester, has been selected to be Chichester Festival Theatre’s 2018 Emerging Artist in Residence.

Helen has been granted extensive access behind-the-scenes at CFT. The residency aims to help develop skills and knowledge to inform the artist's practice and will culminate in an exhibition later in the year.

Textile artist Helen explains that she is particularly excited to ‘immerse myself in theatre life as much as possible to communicate the story of life in Chichester Festival Theatre at a specific point in time in a very strong visual way.’.

'Orange is the New Gray 2017' and 'Watcher (i) 2017'

This is the fourth annual artist’s residency at CFT, demonstrating the strong partnership between Chichester Festival Theatre and the University of Chichester’s Fine Art Department. Helen’s residency will contribute to her MA degree; she will also support the work of the Learning, Education and Participation department (LEAP) by contributing to the Theatre’s programme of workshops and events, and supporting young people taking part in the Arts Award scheme.
