Walking Dead star to visit Chichester

David Morrissey

UPDATE: Unfortunately David has had to postpone this talk due to commitments in LA, but he will be back later this year!

A STAR of the hit zombie drama The Walking Dead will be speaking about his time on the apocalyptic series and other career highlights in Chichester next month.

Actor and director David Morrissey, who is best known for his role as the Governor in the cult US show, will be visiting the University on Wednesday 25 February.

The 50-year-old, who also had a guest appearance in Doctor Who, will be speaking at the university’s ‘Department of Film and Media Presents’ series, which welcomes stars of the silver screen each semester.

In the last three years it has included appearances from members of the original cast of The Avengers, Ashes to Ashes lead Philip Glenister, as well as pioneers of electronic music and sound effects The Radiophonic Workshop.

Dr Adam Locks, Programme Co-ordinator of Film and Television Studies and Media at the University, will be hosting the event.

He said: “This is a wonderful opportunity to listen to a hugely talented actor from one of the most popular shows of the last decade.

“It is an absolute pleasure to welcome back David following his first visit in 2010, and to start the next round of media-related guests to speak at the University in the coming year.”
