About

Chris joined the Royal Navy in 1982 and has worked with Collingwood Theatre since 1984 and has Acted, Crewed and Stage Managed, and went on to Direct and Produce many shows over the years. He worked for the MOD and was the the Theatre Manager in HMS Collingwood 1994-2006. Chris is also one of the founder members of the stage combat groups Warcraft and Deeds of Arms. Training under the Sword Master Bob Anderson, Chris has been a Fight Co- Ordinator/Sword Master for stage, film & television for over 30 years and has worked for The RSC, BBC, Sky 1, The History Channel, Ludus Gladiatorius, The Second Augustus Legion, International Festival of the Sea 01, 03, 05, Titchfield Festival Theatre & has worked on films including ‘The Princess Bride’, ‘Tristan & Isolde’, ‘Star Wars’ & ‘Lord Of The Rings’. He has worked with Sir Terry Pratchett and Stephen Briggs to bring disk world plays to the New Theatre Royal, Portsmouth and recently, working with HMS Collingwood RSC, wrote and Directed the award winning, world premiere of Sir Terry’s “Witches Abroad”. Chris as Producer, Director or Fight Co-ordinator, has worked with the Royal Naval Theatre Association for the last 20 years on the Committee as Artistic Lead and Asst Director/Stage Manager/Director for the RN/RSC Open Stages in their performance of “Much Ado About Nothing” “Henry V”, “A Midsummer Nights Dream” “Twelfth Night” and “The Tempest” in HM Dockyard Portsmouth. Also performing in the grounds of Admiralty House Leeds Castle and the The Dell in Stratford.
