Jordan Matthews

About

Jordan became a Senior Lecturer at the University of Chichester in September 2015. He is also a Fellow of the Higher Education Authority.

His research expertise is women and sport: his doctorate critically analysed organisational activism for women and sport; he was an expert consultant on two global research projects commissioned by the International Working Group on Women and Sport (IWG) from 2012-2014 and 2016-2018; he has published about leadership, participation and inclusion, and socio-historical developments for women in sport; he has been an invited keynote speaker at World Conferences hosted in Europe and Africa; and was director of studies for two doctoral studentships focusing on the experiences of women leaders in sport.

Jordan is executive officer and Strategy Group member of the Anita White Foundation (AWF) and founder of the Women and Sport Timeline. He is also chair of the local organising committee for the annual Women’s Sport Leadership Academy (WSLA), a programme that has worked with over 300 women leaders based in over sixty countries and was shortlisted for a Beyond Sport Award for Gender Equality in 2019.
