Julia Potter

About

Julia is the Programme Coordinator for Physical Education and Sports Coaching, which sits within the Institute of Sport at the University of Chichester.

She joined the University on millennial day 1st January 2000 having previously worked for Team England Commonwealth Games. During her time at the University of Chichester Julia has taught a broad range of undergraduate and postgraduate on PE, Education, Sports Science, Health and OAA based programmes.

Julia is a senior fellow of the Higher Education Academy and has extensive experience matters of Quality and Standards and has been chairing institutional and programme approvals, periodic reviews and annual monitoring events for a number of years.

Julia has also led and been involved in consultancy projects with a range of clients including: NHS PCT; Kellogg’s; Tanita; athletes; schools; county and district council.

Julia is the module coordinator of a range of modules including the topics of physiology, health, research methods and pedagogy.  She has extension experience of supervising undergraduate and postgraduate research projects and is currently supervising one PhD student; addressing the interaction between teacher behaviours and pupil activity outcomes.

Julia has active research collaborations with colleagues both internal and at other Universities. Most recently focussing on the impact of New Zealand Blackcurrant extract on Rock climbing performance and blood flow.  Her research interests are broad reaching and the impact of social and physical environments especially schools is of particular interest.
