Research

As a researcher, my primary interest is in exploring the role of physical activity in the prevention and management of non-communicable diseases. I am particularly interested in the ways in which regular physical activity can help to reduce the incidence of conditions such as cardiovascular disease, diabetes, and obesity.

In addition to this, I am also passionate about the field of cardiopulmonary physiotherapy which include cardiac and pulmonary rehabilitation, exercise testing and prescription for acute and chronic diseases & Diabetic foot care. I am interested in investigating the ways in which physiotherapy interventions can be used to improve cardiopulmonary function and quality of life in patients with conditions such as chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), asthma, and heart failure.

Overall, my research interests are focused on understanding how physical activity and physiotherapy interventions can be used to promote health and wellbeing in individuals with non-communicable diseases. Through my work, I hope to contribute to the development of evidence-based interventions that can improve health outcomes for these individuals and reduce the burden of non-communicable diseases on society.

PhD

Potential PhD supervision interest: Exercise and Physical activity in NCD`s, chronic respiratory diseases, lifestyle modifications & Diabetic foot care.

PhD summary: My Ph.D. focussed on the effectiveness of structured exercise program on insulin resistance and quality of life in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus.
