Dr Tessa Maroni

About
Tessa is an applied exercise physiologist within the Occupational Performance Research Group where she primarily works on delivering Ministry of Defence and emergency services research projects to enhance human performance, improve health and reduce injury in physically demanding occupations. Her research interests include: Physical Demands of Arduous Military Training, Operating in Extreme Environments, and Physical Employment Standards. She completed her PhD in 2019 at the University of Western Australia, which investigated practical cooling strategies to optimise athlete physical and cognitive performance in the heat. Tessa has gained vast client experience working as both a researcher and an applied practitioner in exercise and occupational physiology, as well as teaching and supervisory experience with both undergraduate and postgraduate students.
