Preserving Heritage
The women and sport movement is a collective of organisations and individuals who have worked with sustained activism to change sport for women for the better. The AWF has, since its launch, endeavoured to preserve the heritage of the movement and make it publicaly accessible, predominantly through the AWF Archive.
The University of Chichester supports this undertaking by continuing to receive and house the content of the Archive in the Special Collections Room located in the Learning Resource Centre on the Bishop Otter Campus.
The aim of the Archive is to be the definitive resource for knowledge and understanding of the women and sport movement.
In 2017, the AWF will launch two projects to further preserve the heritage of the women and sport movement: the Women and Sport Timeline, and Women and Sport Gamechangers.
