Recovering from injury

What services do we offer?

For individuals:

  • You will have a full initial consultation to assess your needs
  • Any treatments that follow the initial consultation will be individually tailored to your needs
  • Follow up sessions will ensure that our treatments are effective 

For groups:

  • A full needs analysis can be carried out if required
  • The group session will be tailored towards the groups needs and can have an educational focus if required.
  • Follow up sessions will ensure that our treatments / educational sessions are effective

What are the benefits?

For everyone:

You will get the chance to work with an experienced practitioner who is registered with the Health and Care Profession Council (HCPC) as a registered physiotherapist or a Sports Therapist who is registered with the Society of Sports Therapists (SST).

Why should you do it?

If you are interested in maximising your potential then we can help you achieve this.

We can help you with the fast and effective management of old or new injuries and preventive measures to help reduce risk of future occurrences.

We can provide information to help you understand more about your injury.

Results

 

Improvement of your injury with treatment and advice in relation to injury prevention in areas such as*:

  • Muscle weakness or tightness
  • Joint pain and stiffness
  • Coordination and balance
  • Joint mobility
  • Swelling & Inflammation

*Please note that this is not an exhaustive list and the treatment will be tailored to your needs.

What to expect from your first visit:

Parking is available on campus, with Pay and Display required prior to 5pm. Please allow time to park as campus may be busy.

You need to make your way to the Tudor Hale Centre for Sport.

If you are under 16 please bring a parent or guardian with you to the session.

Check in at Tudor Hale Centre for Sport reception where we will collect some details from you.

You will then be shown to the consultancy room.

We will ask you some questions and perform a physical assessment, to build a picture of your physical condition which will be used to help formulate your treatment.

You are required to bring shorts, trainers and females will need a vest top. 

The help from Paul and the University of Chichester has been paramount to my success. Paul’s professional, friendly and competent approach has massively helped me to manage my severe Achilles tendonitis and stay fit to train and compete.

What do you get?

There are a variety of techniques that we might use depending upon your needs.

These may include

  • Joint mobilisation and manipulation
  • Soft tissue massage
  • Exercise prescription
  • Ultrasound / laser / interferential therapy
  • Acupuncture
  • Taping
  • Postural and biomechanical advice
  • Home rehabilitation programme
  • ​Education about your condition
How much?

Payment is required at the end of each treatment session. We accept card and cash payments, but also have an online store facility if required.

For your initial assessment we charge £45 (1 hour).

For follow-up sessions we charge £45 (1 hour) or £35 (45 mins).

When booking and paying for a block of six sessions in advance, you will get your initial assessment free (£175).
