Alison Woodward

Performance Development Coordinator / Senior Lecturer / Bassoon Tutor

Alison won a scholarship to study music at the University of Chichester and gained a 1st Class Honours Degree as well as the Wiley Prize for Academic Excellence.  She was also awarded a Distinction at Masters level in music performance. 

Alison is a Senior Lecturer in Music and Bassoon Tutor at the University of Chichester.  She is also the Performance Development Coordinator and oversees and supports our Performance Tutors as well as manages areas relating to the Quality of the Student Experience and the NSS.  Alison worked for the West Sussex Music Service for a number of years as Staff Development Tutor, Leader of the Chichester Music Centre, and Bassoon Specialist. 

Finally, Alison also freelances as a bassoonist, performing in a variety of orchestral and chamber ensembles, and runs her own private teaching practice.  She has recorded for several films, one of which won the Caligari Prize in the Berlin Film Festival.  Alison has also had a selection of published bassoon repertoire dedicated to her.
