Diana Vivian

Diana Vivian has had many years’ experience teaching aspiring singers. She works with enthusiasm and humour and adapts to each individual’s needs building confidence while working on a solid technique and interpretation.

She studied piano, violin and singing at the Royal Academy of Music and continued her studies as a singer at the Guildhall School of Music where she won the prestigious Principal’s Prize.  In 2000 she toured America singing First Lady The Magic Flute. For Scottish Opera she has covered Gutrune and Gerhilde Der Ring des Nibelungen, the Witch and Mother Hansel and Gretel, and has covered and performed the role of Aïda. For Welsh National Opera she has covered the role of Leonora in Il Trovatore, and for Vlaamse Opera she sang Starenka in Jenufa.  For European Chamber Opera she sang the role of Madama Butterfly and for the London Opera Players the roles of the Countess (The Marriage of Figaro) and First Lady (The Magic Flute).  She was selected to participate in Masterclasses with the renowned tenor Jose Cura and mezzo soprano Rosalind Plowright. She has been soloist on several concert tours to Salzburg, Krakow, Venice, Florence , Rome and Barcelona and sang Strauss’ Four Last Songs at St John Smith’s Square, Elgar’s The Kingdom and Verdi’s Requiem in Guildford and Arundel cathedrals.  She is also one third of a cabaret group the 3 sopranos and is now conducting Musicals and Operettas in the South of England.
