Joel Scott

Associate Lecturer for Musical Theatre

Joel is a theatre director who specialises in immersive, digital and site responsive theatre. His company, Goat and Monkey, have created work from the dingiest of railway arches to the grandest of Royal Palaces. He is currently creating a family adventure to open a festival at Kew Royal Botanical Gardens, preparing The Devil Speaks True,  a binaural horror retelling of Macbeth where the audience are cast as Banquo, and writing a piece encouraging Dementia friendly communities, funded by Arts Council England.

Joel creates work internationally, including Living The Dream (World Expo in Shanghai with real time digital link to a simultaneous performance on London's South Bank), and The Lost Child with actors from the King Abdulaziz Centre of World Culture in Dammam, Saudi Arabia. Joel recently worked with 120 actors in a large scale site piece in the Barbican, and 300 actors in the largest housing estate in Europe.
