Jon Mills

Senior Lecturer

Before joining the University in September 2012, Jon taught Physical Education for 25 years in secondary schools across England holding a wide ranges of roles, including, Head of Department, Head of Faculty, Director of Studies, Partnership Development Manager, Head of Sixth Form and Assistant Head teacher.

Jon is an ex-professional Rugby player and experienced coach, specialising in Attach Skills.  He now coaching at Worthing Riaders National League team and has held roles at Sussex and Harlequins Academy.  He has experience of delivering CPD courses for both Primary and Secondary PE teachers.  Recently Jon has been involved with training PE staff in both Iraq and Shanghai.  Jon is currently working with the Youth Sport Trust, British Council and the Pudong Education Bureau in the field of CPD for both primary and secondary University Staff.

Jon teaches on the PE and Sports Coaching Degree, the PGCE Secondary PE, PGCE Primary PE and the Adventure Education programmes.  He is currently the admissions tutor for PGCE PE Secondary programme and a member of AFPE.
