Jon Rattenbury
Associate Lecturer - Fretted Instruments
About
Jon has extensive experience as a performer on fretted instruments, and as a music educator and examiner in the UK and internationally. He currently performs in duos with cellist Ivana Peranic, and with guitarist Brian Ashworth. Jon has worked as a soloist and in various ensembles, giving classical concerts, playing in musical theatre pit bands, and gigging in rock and jazz bands. He works as a music examiner for RSL, IBO, and worked as a music syllabus consultant for ABRSM. Jon completed his M.A. in music at Goldsmiths, University of London, and has interests in both historical and contemporary musicology.

Morelli’s arrangements of Lully – from the Pepys Library. Critical edition of Baroque songs, with commentary and recording. (Lute Society, 2014).
Various CD recordings as soloists and in ensemble, including: Duologue – music for two guitars (2018); two tracks on a forthcoming compilation CD of compositions by Barry Mills (2019).

Babbitt’s serialist guitar duet, ‘Soli e duettini’. Performance-as-research project (2015-16).
