About
Louis brings a wealth of industry experience to Chichester having worked for national and international sports teams. Louis has enjoyed employment at first team level in all domestic divisions of professional football in England.
He also draws on personal experiences from multiple sports having worked for the English Institute of Sport during both the 2010 Delhi XIX Commonwealth Games and the London 2012 Olympic Games cycle. He continues to practice and works with domestic and world championship boxers.
Louis has over a decade of HE teaching experience shared between the University of Chichester and Solent University. At Solent Louis developed curriculum to reflect real-world learning and increased their sports portfolio with the introduction of new undergraduate and post graduate degree programmes.
A senior Lecturer in biomechanics and performance analysis, he is a well-travelled external adviser for many institutions looking to validate new sports courses and is currently chief external examiner at Glyndwr University.
Professional
Louis holds a UEFA coaching licence, the FA Fitness Trainers Award, and is an accredited sport & exercise scientist. He was employed in a variety of roles within professional football clubs, including head of sport science, head of strength and conditioning, lead analyst, and technical coach at Crystal Palace FC, AFC Bournemouth, Southampton FC and Portsmouth FC.
Louis completed his MSc in Sport and Exercise Biomechanics at the University of Chichester before completing his PGCLTHE at Solent. A fellow of the HEA Louis teaches on performance analysis modules and programme coordinates the MSc in Sports Performance Analysis. Louis undertakes dissertation supervision across sport science and sport coaching disciplines at UG and PG level.

Research
Louis is in the process of attaining his professional doctorate in the area of sport and mental health. Having set up a foundation – The Football Family – that explores and supports the wellbeing of released academy footballers, his research and PhD focus is on transition through and out of football.
