The University of Chichester is celebrating outstanding results in this year’s National Student Survey (NSS), where it has been recognised as the best on the South Coast for student satisfaction.
The results build on the institution’s recent success in the WhatUni Student Choice Awards, where it was named No1 in the South East for the quality of its teaching and lecturers last month.
The average NSS positivity score for the University has increased in 2026 to 86.8%, ranking Chichester above Portsmouth, Southampton, Bournemouth, Brighton, Sussex, Solent and Winchester, as well as placing it in the top 25 in the entire country.
The University was also placed 14th in the UK for the quality of its teaching, with 90.7% of students giving a positive score, and a score of 91.4% positivity for academic support. In individual subjects, Chichester has taken the top spot in Nursing, while Childhood and Youth studies, Computer Games and Animation, Dance, Maths and Philosophy also scored strongly.

The NSS results are determined by final year students, who score their time at university, offering important feedback to help develop courses and improve the student experience.
