Exhibition: “Iris Murdoch amongst the Artists“
Learning Resource Centre, ground floor, Bishop Otter Campus.
Free and open to all.
A major retrospective including newly discovered artworks by Dame Iris Murdoch as well as works by Margaret Benyon, Barbara Dorf, Rachel Fenner, James Jefferies, Sargy Mann, Kevin Petrie, Tom Phillips, Carol Sommer, Reynolds Stone, and Harry Weinberger.
The main attraction, as the exhibition title suggests, will be a significant number of artworks by the novelist and philosopher Dame Iris Murdoch, almost all of which have never been on public display before and some of which have been recently discovered.
Art was central to her life and work, and this exhibition will include personal effects and correspondence from Murdoch to highlight the development of her own art in relation to her life and work.
The Bishop Otter Campus Learning Resources Centre, where the pieces are located, is open 8am to 5pm Monday to Friday for visitors to the campus who are not staff or students. The University Campus can be busy on weekdays, and charges apply, so please check the travel options on the University of Chichester website.
