Operating hours for ordering academic dress are 9am – 5pm Monday to Friday. Calls may be recorded for staff training.

Pre-ordered academic dress will be available for collection on the day of your graduation ceremony.

Please note that the University reserves the right to prevent graduands from participating in the ceremony if they are unsuitably dressed.

We recommend you wear a shirt or blouse. The hood (or colours) is secured by a loop at the front, which will fasten onto a shirt or blouse button. This helps the hood stay in place.

The mortarboards do come in a variety of sizes but it’s a good idea to bring some hairpins to secure it firmly.

As this is a formal dress occasion, guests are expected to dress smartly (ie no jeans, trainers, T-shirts, etc).
