Academic Partnerships

WHY DEVELOP ACADEMIC PARTNERSHIPS?

  • Contributes to widening participation by delivering aspiration-raising activities with local and regional partners, including the promotion and provision of clear and flexible progression routes into the University
  • Reputational benefits – through association with a range of partner organisations offering high-quality provision, both in the UK and overseas
  • Contributes to the internationalisation of the curriculum for students
  • Broadens experience, providing enhanced learning and teaching opportunities for staff and students within our university and partner organisations.

WHAT WE DO:

STRATEGIC OBJECTIVES

  • Support and advise the University on national and international developments in relation to Academic Partnerships
  • Report to central University Committees on our academic partnership portfolio
  • Respond to local and/or national employer and workforce needs through flexible and innovative off-site and work-based provision
  • Enhance the University’s reputation at an International level through the development of staff and student exchanges
  • Provide a central point of reference for the University with regard to Academic Partnerships.

OPERATIONAL OBJECTIVES

  • Act as a central coordinating body for partnership activities and provide a focal point for related internal/external enquiries
  • Guide and support academic staff in the operational management and quality assurance of Academic Partnerships
  • Ensure the students and staff on Academic Partnerships have a comparable experience to students and staff on main site provision
  • Facilitate effective operational links between partner organisations and the University’s core administrative systems, including admissions, registration, marketing, finance and contracts
  • Provide an effective interface between existing/potential partners and the University, offering a range of advice and guidance.
