Chichester creative writer gifts signed Ian McKellen programme to Canadian university

A THEATRE programme signed by renowned actor Sir Ian McKellen has been gifted to academics in Canada as thanks for accommodating a University of Chichester student during a cultural exchange.

Paul Millross, a second-year of the BA (Hons) in Creative Writing, presented the book to senior figures of Thompson Rivers University in Canada. A frequent visit to the Chichester Festival Theatre, he was able to secure an autographed copy of the recent King Lear performance, which was Sir McKellen’s final Shakespeare play.

Mature student Paul said: “TRU have display cabinets featuring artefacts donated from institutions all around the world and I thought it would be nice to give something to them from Chichester.

“I cannot even begin to tell you how much I have enjoyed my time here in Canada and how enriched I am because of it. Everyone was so supportive and accommodating and I had an excellent time in Canada. To TRU and The University of Chichester, I am forever grateful.”
