Chichester welcomed by York St John University
SENIOR figures from the University of Chichester have visited their counterparts at York St John University as part of a collaborative partnership to share knowledge and best practice.
The friendly exchange between the two institutions was also an opportunity to discuss the strengths of their academic excellence and profound commitment to staff, students, and their communities – a trait shared by both universities who each scored highly in the latest National Student Survey (NSS).
University Vice-Chancellor Professor Jane Longmore was joined on the visit by Deputy Vice-Chancellor Professor Catherine Harper, Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Sustainability and Enterprise) Professor Seamus Higson, and Pro Vice-Chancellor (Student Experience) Dr Mark Mason.
The welcome party from York St John University was led by Vice-Chancellor Professor Karen Stanton and Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic) Dr Jane Rand. Also present were Senior Pro Vice-Chancellor (Research and Impact) Professor Andy Smith, Executive Director (Growth and Infrastructure) Rob Hickey, and Director of Strategy and Planning Andrew Fern.
Chichester and York St John universities share many historical qualities as renowned providers of teaching and education excellence, while both were established within just two years of each other in the first-half of the nineteenth century. As part of the visit, Chichester Vice-Chancellor Professor Jane Longmore spoke about the University’s many celebratory event hosted across 2019 to mark their 180-year anniversary of higher education.
