Lord of the Rings' voice coach speaks at University of Chichester

A HOLLYWOOD voice coach who has worked on a number of the highest-grossing blockbusters of all time including The Lord of the Rings and James Bond spoke at the University of Chichester this week.

Dialect tutor Roisin Carty spoke about her experience training some of the film industry’s most successful actors – such as Elijah Wood and Daniel Craig – at the institution on Friday 5 February.

The talk was free and open to the public as well as students and staff, and held at the Mitre lecture theatre at its Bishop Otter campus, College Lane, Chichester, PO19 6PE.

Jonathan Rice, programme co-ordinator for 'Acting for Film' at University of Chichester, said: “Roisin has worked as a dialect coach on films such as The Lord of The Rings Trilogy, The Hobbit, Casino Royale, Troy, and Into The Storm to name but a few.

“Her work has taken her around the world working with film directors such as Peter Jackson and Tim Burton – this will be a fascinating insight into the film-making process.
