Students’ Union launches weekend memorial music festival
There will be live music and party games at the University today (Friday) and Saturday as the Students’ Union kick-starts its largest fundraising event of the year.
Bands, DJs, and singers of all styles and genres will be performing alongside students and staff at RAGFest 2013, which is being held at ZeeBar on Bishop Otter campus.
The two-day festival is aiming to raise more than £2,000 for the Steve Bernard Foundation, which supports sporting projects across the south coast by purchasing equipment for clubs.
The charity, which was set up in 2006 following former student Steve Bernard’s death in a car accident, has so far raised more than £180,000 for good causes.
Throughout both days live bands, DJs, and singers will be performing onstage along with party games, raffles, and a FIFA14 football competition.
Students can also get hair or nail makeovers, massages, have their face painted, and buy personalised graffiti t-shirts.
Meanwhile President Marc Slowey and Vice President Lizi Mutter will be plunged into slime in front of the live audience on Saturday night.
