Top Tips for Clearing!
_________
- Take your time!
If you are applying through Clearing, remember there’s no rush as Clearing closes mid-October and universities will give you a bit of time to accept or reject their offer.
Universities may offer you a place when you call. But it’s best to think and ask questions about the university, course and any other information useful to make your choice. It is also good to ask how long you have to accept or decline an offer as that may factor in to your decision.
- It’s your choice!
It may be easy to listen to your friends and/or family when choosing the right university for you. But remember, this is your path and you should pick what is right for you.
- Be prepared on the day
When calling universities, it is important to have all the information you need. This could include your grades and any other information needed for your chosen course.
You may also need to prepare answers for certain questions, such as why you want to study the course and why you have picked the specific university, so have these beforehand to avoid stress.
- Be considerate to yourself
Understandably, Clearing can be a stressful time. Even if you didn’t get the grades you had hoped for, but celebrate what you have achieved and use the time afterwards to relax and enjoy a well-deserved break.
