University Academy Trust teacher nominated for prestigious TES awards

A TEACHER from a University of Chichester Academy Trust school has been nominated for the prestigious TES awards.

Sally Doughty, from Frogmore Junior School, was named on the shortlisted for the TES school awards 2019 as an “outstanding individual” in the education sector.

News of her award-nomination follows a very successful 12 months for the University Academy Trust school which also received a glowing Ofsted report and a gold standard in the national School Games Mark scheme, which rewards schools for their commitment to the development of competition across their community.

Ms Doughty was nominated for the classroom support assistant of the year accolade. She will find out if she has won at a gala awards evening at the Grosvenor House Hotel, Park Lane, London on Friday 21 June.

TES editor Ann Mroz said: “It is wonderful to see such great ideas and excellent practice emerging from our schools and teachers, especially at a time when schools are under financial pressure. We had a record number of entries this year and the standard was very high, so all those shortlisted should be very proud: it’s an extraordinary achievement to be on this shortlist.”
