Develop a critical understanding of the advanced physical assessment of adults
During this module, you will advance your evidence-based knowledge, skills and behaviours for conducting a holistic, patient-centred health assessment. This module is designed to help guide clinical decision making within the context of your clinical practice.
The module will cover in depth the physical assessment of the cardiovascular, respiratory, and abdominal systems. Neurological, musculoskeletal, eye, ENT and skin systems will also be explored.
Who can apply?
This module is open to all registered healthcare professionals with a BSc or BSc (Hons) equivalent and subject to employer selection.

Level 7 – 20 credits awarded by the University of Chichester.
Module dates
The Advanced Physical Assessment of Adults module is an 8-day module delivered in-person at the University of Chichester, Bishop Otter Campus, over the following dates:
- September: 9, 16, 23, 30
- October: 7, 14, 21
- November: 4
There are a total of 14 places available for this module.
Assessments
Assessments take place on one day between 1-3 December 2026.
Summative Assessment 1:
Observed structured clinical examination in the university setting (up to 20 mins).
Summative Assessment 2:
A 20-minute professional conversation.
Summative assessment 3:
A 1,500-word critical case study.

Self-funded cost
£2,100
There is a 10% discount if an employer is paying, and for certain students, this is fully paid by their employer.
