Developing confident, evidence-informed educators in health & social care

This is a Level 7 module designed for health and social care professionals who teach, supervise, or support learning in practice and academic settings.

The module focuses on developing confident, reflective, and evidence-informed educators who can design, deliver, and evaluate high-quality learning experiences.

The module explores core areas of contemporary education practice, including adult learning theory, inclusive teaching, digital innovation, simulation and interactive methods, and the evaluation of educational impact.

Learning is structured through a blend of interactive teaching sessions, action learning groups, and practice-focused activities, enabling participants to connect theory directly to their own teaching context.

What you can expect to learn

During this module, you can expect to:

• Develop a deeper understanding of how people learn, and how to apply this to teaching in health and social care
• Design engaging, student-centred learning experiences that link theory to real-world practice
• Use a range of teaching approaches, including digital tools, simulation, and interactive methods
• Create psychologically safe and inclusive learning environments that support participation and growth
• Critically reflect on your own teaching and develop a clear educator identity
• Evaluate teaching effectiveness using structured approaches such as the Kirkpatrick model
• Design and implement an education improvement initiative within your own workplace

Who can apply?

This module is open to all registered healthcare professionals with a BSc or BSc (Hons) equivalent and subject to employer selection.
