The Human Factor: Turning employee resistance into participants of change

Exploring why employees resist change and how leaders can transform resistance into engagement is the topic of the newest short course by the University of Chichester.

Ideal for leaders, change communications specialists and HR professionals, the course will help participants gain greater understanding of individual psychological factors underling resistance to change.

Attendees will learn psychological tools to build up team adaptability and flexibility to overcome resistance to change, and to apply evidence-based behavioural science techniques to foster greater participation and employee engagement.

The course, led by Dr Ian Tyndall and Dr Jacques Ding, will be held online on Friday 28 November 2025 from 12pm to 2pm.

The Human Factor is a comprehensive professional learning programme designed by the Department of Psychology and Criminology at the University of Chichester.

The short courses, delivered both on-campus in West Sussex and online, aim to transform workplace environments by equipping individuals, businesses and organisations with cutting-edge psychological insights and practical skills.

Future courses cover leadership, wellbeing, and digital transformations. The Human Factor also offers tailored CPD training designed to build adaptability, and performance in organisations, endorsed by the Chichester Chamber of Commerce.
