About

Louise gained her BSc in Counselling Psychology (2023) and MSc in Health Psychology (2024) at the University of Chichester. She is an NMC registered nurse (1996- current) with an extensive background in intensive and critical care areas (respiratory, renal, cardiac, burns and plastics).

She is also a nurse health advisor at the university, supporting students in living well and completing their studies despite underlying health conditions.

Professional

Louise is an associate lecturer and associate fellow of the Higher Education Academy. She is working towards her PhD with a focus on how night shift work is perceived, taught and talked about with student nurses.

She is interested in examining the effects of night shifts and the relationship with empathy, retention, and the wellbeing of student nurses during the transition to qualified practitioner.

Wider research interests involve the mind and body connection, including mindfulness, sedentary behaviour, and functional neurological disorder.

    This scoping review aimed to address a significant research limitation concerning mindfulness practices within the metaverse. The primary aim was to examine whether metaverse-based mindfulness training programs incorporate fundamental elements of traditional mindfulness-based interventions (MBIs) and adhere to core mindfulness principles.
