About
Maisie is a dedicated and compassionate Registered Adult Nurse, having graduated from the University of Southampton with a 1st Class Honours degree. She further specialised by obtaining a Post Graduate Diploma in Specialist Community Public Health Nursing, focusing on Health Visiting.
Her professional journey began as an Adult Nurse in Intensive Care where she honed her skills in managing critically ill patients. She then went on to become a Health Visitor, working with 0-5 year olds and their families, working to deliver the Healthy Child Programme. This diverse background has equipped her with a broad skill set, enabling her to handle complex medical situations with confidence and empathy, alongside developing a keen interest in supporting families with Special Educational Needs and breastfeeding. This role allowed her to make a significant impact on community health, providing tailored advice and support to improve the well-being of children and their families.
Throughout Maisie’s career, she has been committed to continuous learning and professional development, always striving to provide the highest standard of care. Her passion for nursing education saw her begin her career in academia at Anglia Ruskin University before joining the team at University of Chichester.

Maisie is a member of the Nursing and Midwifery Council and is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy.
Research
Maisie has a keen interest in exploring population health in relation to breastfeeding, alongside student experience and wellbeing whilst studying apprenticeships.
