Peter Smith

Associate Lecturer in Humanistic Counselling

Peter Smith

About

Peter gained his Degree in Humanistic Counselling at the University of Chichester.

Since qualifying he has focussed on those on the periphery of society – the homeless, drug addicts, ex-offenders, and the socially isolated or disengaged. He has also worked with end of life clients.

Peter is committed to the need for us to “tell our own stories” whilst also acknowledging the mythical and archetypical heritage of which we are all a part. This story can be expressed in a manner of ways – artwork, creative writing, dance and dream. However it is told there is nothing more powerful than sharing the experience with others.

Aside from his own private practice as a registered BACP therapist Peter also works within the NHS and local Council.
