Mark Brewer

Associate Lecturer in Nursing

About

I am an experienced Emergency Medicine Advanced Clinical Practitioner (EM-ACP) with nearly 20 years in healthcare, including 15 years dedicated to emergency medicine. I began my career as a registered nurse, gaining foundational experience in medical assessment and intensive care before transitioning into advanced practice, where I have worked for the past 12 years.

I hold a Bachelor of Nursing and a Postgraduate Diploma in Advanced Clinical Practice, and I am credentialed by the Royal College of Emergency Medicine (RCEM) as an EM-ACP. Alongside my clinical role in a busy emergency department, I contribute to the development of future healthcare professionals as an Associate Lecturer at university level and provide education on advanced physical assessment for a postgraduate module.

I am committed to high-quality patient care, clinical leadership, and education. I am also an Advanced Life Support (ALS) Instructor, supporting multidisciplinary training in critical care and resuscitation, and a European Trauma Course (ETC) provider. My combined clinical and academic roles enable me to bridge theory and practice, ensuring evidence-based, patient-centred care while fostering learning and professional development in others.
