- UCAS Tariff points: 48
- If English is not your first language: IELTS 6.0 overall with a minimum of 5.5 in writing or equivalent
- Non-standard Application Entry Routes: The University has an alternative entry route for applicants who have relevant skills and experience but who do not hold the formal minimum entry qualifications required. Applicants who demonstrate the necessary skills and experience to enter a course of higher education will be asked to complete an entry task involving the completion of specially set assignments.

Course overview
Sociology and criminology are interconnected. Sociology explores the workings of society and human behaviour while Criminology delves into who commits crime and why. Studying the two will allow you to explore sociological issues such as race, gender, poverty, education and youth and how these affect our attitudes and responses to crime and punishment.
Who is this degree for?
Are you keen to study sociology and criminology but think you'd benefit from an additional year building your academic skills? This four-year course gives you the chance to prepare for reading and writing at university level and enables you to explore the criminal justice system and the impact these have on the rehabilitation of individuals and wider society.

- Also situated in the Learning Resource Centre is the Support and Information Zone (SIZ) to help with any enquiries while at university
- At SIZ, there's an equipment loans centre offerings laptops, tablets and other electronic devices for short and long-term loans
